BEHIND THE SOUND OF RYAN MCHARDY.

Personal Profile

Ryan McHardy is a Canadian producer, drummer, and mix engineer shaping a modern sound that blends crisp production with emotional weight. Raised in Barrie, Ontario, he first found his voice behind a drum kit at age two before moving into production as a teenager, creating mashups and tracks that quickly gained traction online. What began as experimenting on free software grew into a career producing records across genres, with a strong focus on contemporary country while still drawing from folk, rap, and pop.

Ryan has worked with a wide range of artists across Canada and beyond, earning placements on Spotify editorials like North Country, Country Frontier, and Fresh Finds Country, as well as Apple Music playlists including Today’s Country, Canada’s Country, and Canada’s Country: Best of 2024. As the longtime producer and drummer for country artist Chase Heaslip, alongside collaborations with R&B, rap, and singer-songwriter acts, his productions have collectively earned over half a million streams, radio play across Ontario, and recognition through Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program, where he was a finalist for the Engineer of the Year Award and winner of the Hit Song of the Year Award.

Known for his sharp sense of arrangement and seamless song flow, Ryan brings both musicality and technical precision to every project, often drumming on the records he produces. Whether in the studio or on stage at festivals and venues across Ontario, his goal is always the same: to create music that connects deeply and leaves a lasting impact.
